Every shirt checked and graded before it is listed

Returns

Returns policy

Every shirt in the vault is a second-hand original and the only one we have. We sell it exactly as it is photographed and graded, which means we cannot take it back once it has been sold. Please read this before you order.

No returns, no refunds

Once a shirt has been paid for, the sale is final. We do not accept returns, exchanges or size swaps, and we do not give refunds. That applies for any reason — the size does not fit, the colour looked different on your screen, you have changed your mind, or you have found something similar cheaper elsewhere.

Why a sold shirt cannot go back in the vault

These are not new shirts from a warehouse. Each one is a used original that we have authenticated, graded and photographed, and when it leaves us it cannot simply be put back on the shelf to sell again as though nothing happened. A returned shirt comes back creased and lived-in, and the next buyer deserves a shirt described as it truly is. So the sale closes when the payment clears, and the listing ends with it.

What you are shown before you buy

Everything you need to decide is on the shirt's own page:

  • Front and back photographs

Your shirt, laid flat against the same charcoal backdrop every time — not a stock image of a different one.

  • A condition grade from A to D

A is near mint, D is heavily worn. What the grade means for that shirt is written out in plain words.

  • The flaws, stated openly

Marks, pilling, a faded print, a cracked nameset — anything we have spotted is written into the condition notes rather than buried.

  • Size, maker and season

Second-hand sizing runs differently to new, and a shirt from twenty years ago will not fit like today's. If you are between sizes, ask us for a flat measurement before you buy.

Buy it the way you would off a rail

Think of it as buying a shirt at a match, in a market or from another collector: you look at it closely, you ask your questions, then you take it home. Everything needed to decide is here before you pay. The one thing we cannot do is take the shirt back afterwards.

If the shirt that arrives is not the shirt you bought

Every shirt is checked against its Kit Vaults code before it is posted, so this should never happen. If a shirt reaches you that is not the one listed, use the Contact us button at the bottom of any page and tell us what arrived. We will look into it and put things right.

Questions before you order

Use the Contact us button at the bottom of any page. Ask about a measurement, a mark in a photo or how a shirt is likely to fit — we would far rather answer it now than have a disappointed buyer later.
